The United Nations has set 21 March as World Home Economics Day, HEIA(Q) will commemorate and toast the day at The Emporium Hotel in Fortitude Valley. The International Federation for Home Economics (IFHE) has recently announced the theme for World Home Economics Day (WHED) 2015 and 2016 – Home Economics literacy: Skills for families and consumers. The concept of home economics literacy includes food literacy, financial literacy, consumer literacy and environmental literacy. Together, these literacies are enacted by home economists, families and consumers using effective communication strategies.
The afternoon also includes the (brief) HEIA(Q) 2015 Annual General Meeting, as well as the opportunity to meet and acknowledge the 2015 Queensland King and Amy O’Malley Scholarship Award winners.
Why not get a group of friends together to enjoy the morning?
Participation certificates will be awarded to those in attendance.
